Joshua S. Oduyemi is an accomplished Silicon Valley Venture Capital, serving as the Founder, General Partner, and Executive Chairman of Sheatrust Capital. With over $16 billion in equity assets under management, Sheatrust Capital oversees a portfolio of more than 40 enterprise software, data, and technology-enabled companies, employing over 10,000 people worldwide. Mr. Joshua's leadership has been instrumental in supervising over 380 completed transactions, and he continues to direct the firm's investment strategy, governance, and investor relations.

Early Life and Career

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, to Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Dorcas Oduyemi, Joshua Oduyemi earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delta State University, followed by a Master’s in Coastal Engineering and Port Development from UNESCO-IHE, and a second Master’s in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Houston, Texas.

Joshua began his career in 2005 at Platinum Bank, FCMB, and GTBank before joining Schlumberger as Assistant Vice President. He later transitioned to Halliburton, where he served as Senior Officer, overseeing project and investment portfolios. His career spanned across the United States, the Middle East, Norway, Aberdeen (UK), and Nigeria, during which he advised on and executed mergers and acquisitions totaling over $60 billion in Schlumberger’s NLG operations.

A committed philanthropist, Joshua has donated over $6 million through his Mayflower Recovery Foundation, supporting various charitable and humanitarian causes. His extensive business network covers Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and North America, garnering him recognition and numerous awards both locally and internationally.

In 2011, Joshua founded Mash Equity Partners, now Sheatrust Capital, with a mission to invest in businesses that harness technology, energy, software, biotech, pharmaceuticals, and data to promote economic equity, ecological responsibility, and inclusion. The firm employs a variety of investment strategies, including private equity, permanent capital, credit, and public equity.

As a prominent expert in the software and technology industries across America, Europe, and Africa, Joshua is frequently invited to speak on entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership at international forums.

Joshua is also the Founding Director and President of the Mayflower Recovery Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship, providing essential resources such as shelter and clean water to underserved communities in Africa and Asia, and preserving African culture and human rights.

He serves on the advisory board for mergers and acquisitions for companies like Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Google, PulteGroup, and Landhoven Energy, an independent oil and gas company operating in over 10 countries. He is also the Chairman of Sheatrust Capital, following its merger with Mash Equity Partners in 2016.

In 2010, Joshua contributed $1.5 million through the Mayflower Recovery Foundation to support relief efforts for the Haiti Earthquake Crisis, aiding in rebuilding communities and providing essential resources. His philanthropic efforts continue to make a global impact.
